Fubard'ed my 12 savage trigger

Well, I should say someone else did it. I had a devil of a time trying to get the bolt out of my new 12varmit rifle. it has the accutrigger. I tried everything to no avail. A friend a self professed gunsmith said he could fix it. Well he did but the trigger wouldn't stay cocked. At 72 I should have learned in life to send it back to Savage. Well I did send it back to savage after the fact. I get a call from savage they need the whole rifle w/o the stock so off it went yesterday. My bad, didn't want to be w/o the use of the rifle. So now I am w/o. Well enough of my belly ackin'. My question I am not a fan of the accu-trigger is is there a jewell trigger that can be installed and does a qualified gunsmith have to do it? Lou

No Jewells, but there are some good triggers avaiable from Sharp Shooter Supply. Look under the left tab labeled TRIGGERS.

Well before all the VG info on triggers I had sent the barreled action to Savage at thier request, I had it back in a week from the time they recieved it with a new accu-trigger, and that they had to remove some burrs but didn't elaborate as to where the burrs were. I can only say that their service is outstanding, there was no charge even though I told them it was my fault for letting a so called gunsmith monkey with it. I have been bitten with the rifle and have plans for another in 6.5-284 for Deer hunting. I am legally disabled and have a permit to hunt from my car, so the weight is not a factor. But I think the 6BR with a 1-12 twist will be just a little to light for Deer at 3-500 yards. I sure don't want to cripple game. Any thought on either caliber ? Thanks Lou
