Replacement of Savage trigger

I installed a Rifle Basix trigger in my Savage 110 last night. Took the rifle to the range today and was pleased at the improvement over the Accu-trigger in my 6br. I might replace the triggers in my Mdl 12 308 and 110 338 Edge with the Sav 1 trigger from Rifle Basix.

Nomad47,

THanks..I may try one of those. I have 2 PTA's with Sav2 and 2 PTA's with stock target triggers
Let me know what you think and whether you like it.
BTW, if you have an after market wood stock, you might need to remove a little wood from in front of the sear. Simple if you have some sort of dremel tool.

I have a Jard trigger on a Mod 12 Savage with an HS Precision stock. Had to get it chucked up in a milling machine to get the aluminum cleaned up to get the trigger to clear the stock. My trigger runs around 6 oz also.

I may have to scrap my trigger and go with a Basix. Lost a spring somehow and haven’t been able to get a replacement from Savage. My GS says they are stingy on giving him parts.
Anyone else have issue getting parts from savage??

I don’t have the accutrigger. I think it’s the trigger return spring that’s missing. It’s a vertical spring at the rear of the mechanism.

Stick with the SAV-2's if your going to be shooting competitions with the rifle. I have them on several of my F Class rifles, and love the. I have Timeny and Jewels triggers as well. The SAV-2's hand in there flawlessly.

Any questions, let me know. I still have several around here looking for a home. The 2's are my favorite. I also have the RB's on 2 of my Remmy's, and they are flawless on these as well.

Got two Rifle Basix Sav 1 triggers. One on my Model "J" 110 V and one on my XP 100 converted rifle. LOVE THEM BOTH!! Can you say "hair trigger"? Just don't breath around it.:cool:

Surprisingly you can get the SAV-2's pretty low, and they will "pass" the bump test! I worked (playing around) with the one on my 338 Edge. If you put your trigger finger anywhere near the trigger, it's firing! It's very consistent, and I have never had to readjust anything!

I like my Jewell's, my SSS/Evolution triggers, and my Rifle Basix SAV-2's, and the Timney's are good and hangs in there with the rest of the best!

I put the SAV-2 on my son's .223 but I still don't have it like I want it. Might need to call them and get some tips on how to better adjust it

I could set mine extremely light, disregarding any safeties, these will AD at those settings. I can not justify in my mind any trigger that will not hold sear engagement during bolt manipulation.

Here's a quote

What adjustment is in question ?

It’s been a few months since I messed with it, but I recall 3 adjustments, sear engagement, safety adjustment and overtravel adjustment.

All three were interrelated as they affected the feel and function of the trigger.

I’m sure I just need to play around with it some more to get it right
