Frustrated !

Back in the day, a bunch of us were in our early 20. At noon time, we would be out sitting along the building eating and you know, there's always one of the guys that had done it ALL.
Had one guy that ALWAYS ran his mouth about all the things he had done. (remember we were all in our early 20s)
I finally had enough and jumped this guy in front of the rest of the bunch.
I told him that he HAD TO BE at least 200 years old for all the things he had done and it was ALWAYS better than anyone else.
Guess what? He shut up and never said another word.:D:D

I had a one off deal about 50 years ago. A fellow worker had done it all and knew an incredible amount of known people. After a year, it seems that we were unable to disprove anything he said.
No, it wasn't me.
You are correct, we have a lot of keyboard shooters!

Folks who do this are usually suffering from low self esteem. Some are actually very smart but for some reason never reached the level of success, they aspired to. They may appear to be pleased with their station in life but there is something lacking in their mind. Think of the combat veteran who tried to be a seal or special operator and fell short in the tryouts. How about the guy who served honorably in a war zone and tells other men's war stories as if they were their own. These folks are failures in their own minds, even if they have attained success and are looked up to by others. they can't help themselves and should be pitied.

By the way, last week I was at the range with my 6.5 Creedmoor and was able to cut 5 playing cards with the edge facing me at 500 yards. I had to take a second shot at the last card. I think the factory ammo was defective.

We refer to guys like that as "for entertainment value only"

About 10 years ago or so, a bunch of us were discussing the adoption of the 45 caliber 1911 pistol by the US military.

The expert says, "You know, last year I was talking to a guy who was at those trials, and he told me....."

I interrupted and said, "How old was that guy? Those trials were held a hundred years ago"

Expert just laughs it off and says, "he was 120 something years old" and just keeps going with his story

LOL!!!

It’s the same in every hobby. Back when I blew money on cars it was the same thing.

How many times have you heard that someone's car was too fast for the dragstrip and was outlawed? They won't run because then everyone knows the truth.

I had a good running low 12 second 351C Mustang street car about 40 years ago. A guy pulled up at a local hangout with a Henry J on a trailer with a straight axle, roll cage, big block Chevy with dual 4's, zoomie headers like a funny car, all sheet metal interior, and challenged all of us to run for money. Gee, do I look stupid? No Way! The next weekend I was at the local dragstrip and it showed up The car made about 3 full throttle runs, didn't miss or cut out, didn't get loose, and ran a best of 15.6 at at 90-92 mph. "Very Impressive!"

Electronic targets make it far easier too!
Our version of a wind call is auto-correct

Had one guy who had been to law school, spec ops, Nam veteran among others. Did a lot of things in his 20 some odd years of life. Claimed he had a metal plate in his head from injuries in Nam. My friend would try to stick a magnet on his head and the guy would yell "Its titanium! It won't stick!" We never could see the scar on his head;).

I don't normally get into these, "conversations" but...Guys get me going when they start spouting that their factory rifles shoot way smaller groups, (all-day long) than any custom barrel they have ever seen!!
When someone says "here, look I have a custom gun and barrel" they close their eyes, thus, they have never seen one ;-)

Back in my firehouse days after listening to a ration of BS I would counter with, “You won’t believe this but just the other day........”
Another line I was locally famous for was, “You won’t believe this but......” and of course their comeback was, “no, we won’t believe it”.

HMMM well yah i heard the stories I worked with a guy who use to tell stories about shooting wood chucks at 5 and 6 hundred yards.
I invited him to shoot at our local club I set up 2 targets at 2 hundred yard. He asked how far is that i said it,s 200yds,
No he said it looks like 400 in my scope. I said yeah your right 200 yds out and 200 yds back '' He always tried to compare his factory 22.250 to my benchrest rig too.
can you say Jerk
