Frustrated !

Oh I feel ya. They drive me nuts.
The other ones that twerk my nerves are the ones who dress up like soldier and want to play soldier yet didnt have the balls to be a soldier.
I love it when those guys start running there pie holes. lol

Hell, I just start laughing out loud when they start spouting their nonsense, really shakes them up. After a short period of time I throw down a sizable bet that they can't do what they are bragging about, most shut up and walk away.
Great sport!
Pat you and I both.. had a guy on a job site once tell me he didn’t shoot our monthly f/class matches because he could keep all his shots inside a nickel at 500..I told him he was so full of chit his eyes were brown..that’s when he got a little puffy and said his 270 was the most accurate rifle he’d ever seen..:D

Substitute “bar room sniper” with any subject matter and the results will be the same. People often will exaggerate, embelish and out right lie to make themselves seem more knowledgeable than they are. It is a flaw and there “ain’t no” (using southern slang) external force that will fix it. I find it best to roll my eyes and move on.

He added one to many zeros in his statement................:oops::rolleyes:

Back in the day, a bunch of us were in our early 20. At noon time, we would be out sitting along the building eating and you know, there's always one of the guys that had done it ALL.
Had one guy that ALWAYS ran his mouth about all the things he had done. (remember we were all in our early 20s)
I finally had enough and jumped this guy in front of the rest of the bunch.
I told him that he HAD TO BE at least 200 years old for all the things he had done and it was ALWAYS better than anyone else.
Guess what? He shut up and never said another word.:D:D

I am sick of these bar room snipers !Most of the time I just shake my head and keep my mouth shut. But when they say crap that is hideously off the chart I gotta wave the B.S. Flag !Sorry for the rant but I feel better now.:D
Give them some time, probably they are less experienced and not so much a braggard.

My everyday wearing cap is a Marine Corps utility cover. Imagine the number of people I meet that are snipers, recon and even one MC "Black Ops" guy. This guy greeted me and he said he had been in RVN and I asked where. He said his AO was between the DMZ and the Haiphong Harbor. It told him that I had heard that kind of BS before, and walked off.
As I was leaving he shouted, "and I was a Sniper too!"

The really sad cases are the ones who start believing their own BS.

I knew a guy, (dead now) who was an excellent machinist/gunsmith, Viet Nam Vet, avid shooter and excellent hunter. I actually saw a lot of his expertise, and successes, -- he was brilliant. BUT--

For some reason he had a compulsion to tell incredible stories about many things. Black ops stories simply beyond belief, ranging into the current time period. He married a friend of mine, and she eventually had to give him up after getting a clue. The guy had no reason to lie, and could have stood tall on his real skills and history.

I've come to realize that the problem is just another of the many weird human psychological quirks that is even worse when fueled by alcohol.

We had a phrase back in high school in the 70's when some guy was spouting BS.
"In your dreams!" Seems more and more people are living in that alternate reality.

Add: "He's a Legend in his own mind." Heard that one in some movie. Clint Eastwood, I think.
