Free Bore

What free bore for 70 gr blitzkings, and 75 to 87 Vmax? Will I reach the lands with a 87gr vmax and a .113 freebore ?

I assume you are referring to 6BR. While I don't shoot the bullets you referred to, I do shoot the 87gr VLD's. My 6BR is chambered with .070 FB. I hope this helps. Good luck.

I think people have gone crazy on these stupid long freebores trying to avoid the donuts. When they should just go to bigger necks.

I made a spreadsheet using Bryan Litz bullet data from one of his books to research bullet seating depths for the 6XC, do to so many different reamer prints I have looked at. If I change the cartridge length to a 6BR with a .113" free bore I show the following:
Bryan Litz doesn't has the 70grn Biltzking data in the book I have.
*75grn V-Max has .066" grip on the bullet plus the .125" boat tail length= . 191" bullet length in the neck.
*87grn V-Max has .113" grip on the bullet plus the .125" boat tail lenght= . 238" bullet length in the neck.
*88grn Berger Varmint HBC FB has .133" grip on the bullet plus zero boat tail= . 133" bullet length in the neck.

I was sure the '113 was too long for the bullets I want to shoot, the only reason I asked about .113 freebore is that reamer is available off the shelf from grizzly no wait. A custom reamer is 6 to 10 weeks out. Based on reading some old threads people were recommending free bores for varmint bullets from 0 to .080. So I am fishing for someone that shoots one of the bullets I listed at a known freebore that can tell me it shoots great,or it doesn't, do not want to re invent the wheel.

I have a .060 freebore and 75 Gr Vmax's work well.

Some bullets like jam then they also like the long jump the same so for instance a bullet likes .010jam well that same bullet may like a .115 jump. Seems like all bullets have this trait so you can look for the long jump node and keep it moving

I been shooting 70gr blitzkings in my 6br with .60ths free bore, it works great plus I can shoot the 105 class bullets if I want, mine is a 8 twist. Both shoot great!
