Fowler bullets on varmints?

I was reading on Fowler Bullet's website and they claimed good expansion on live varmints! I am considering trying these bullets when my 6mm build project is completed! Looking at the 80 grain version of their bullets! Any of you seasoned 6mm shooters have any experience with these bullets on critters from prairie dog sized on up to coyotes? Just thinking in advance! These bullets are comparatively priced with the 80 grain Bergers and within a few cents a bullet compared to the Sierras and Noslers! Thanks in advance!

Here's a coyote taken at about 300 yards with a 80 grain Fowler flat base bullet out of my 28 inch 6mm Ackley.... Pretty normal exit hole with this bullet....

Don't over look the 80g Sierra Blitz BT on yotes and other varmints, it is unreal accurate and Kills big time.

Thx guys! For some reason I couldn't access the forum for a couple of days! Preacher, that is one fine looking rifle you have there and it appears that the Fowler 80 grainers anchor critters pretty well! Thanks again!

For larger varmint they are good but I get better "results" with Vmax type bullets on pd`s than any hp I`ve ever used w/ my 1:8 6br. Dont know, maybee a few hun. fps would make it better?

Berger and Fowler use the same jackets, just different dies.

I shot a lot of coyotes with the 80g Bergers at 3600 fps, and they always expanded.

For p.dogs, I would opt for a Ballistic tip type of bullet for max expansion factor.

I have used Fowler's 66gr 6mm bullets on prairie dogs, from my 6BR and I thought they were excellent.

I have also used the 80gr Fowlers in 6mm in my 6-284Win, simply put...devastating.

Fowler's have a huge open point and a thin BR jacket. Combined with his quality make a great bullet choice.
