I am 73 and new to the forum, I sit back and read as many of the posts I can, I have learned a wealth of information If I ask a dumb question there is no reason to tell me something I already know. Even at my age I can still learn. There is an old saying ( Even a fish wouldn't get caught if he kept his mouth shut.) I really love this forum. lou

Howdy! Just a thought, but maybe the posts, which are out of line are new members who have no interest in our site, they just want to destroy it! You know what they say, if you have an enemy, join their ranks and see what they're doing. Find their agenda, and disrupt, and attack from within!! Ok, that's my two cents!!!

Thanks for the heads up. I have a question about all the acronyms used on this site. Are the meanings posted somewhere? I would appreciate some clarification. I know some of them like spf wts wtb but what is the meaning of "bump" and some of the other things used? Thank you for your help !

just remember "a stuipd question is the one you don't ask" a teacher told me that back when they still taught kids stuff. Think it was a couple of years after dirt was invented.

While I don't post/contribute here very often I've found this to be one of the rare forums that functions in a constructive manner.

Very, very little "Jerry Springer" episodes here which is a refreshing change.

Well done/said and continue the great work!

I think "bump" is a way for the original poster to refresh the post and let everyone know its still goin/for sale,

I'm a new member to this organization, seems like a great bunch of shooters! People should treat others like they would like themselves to be treated. Hey, just ordered a nightforce 8x36x56 benchrest scope. Excited!

I'm new here and new to the accurate shooting scene.
I recently left another site due to caustic remarks placed by someone else. Maybe I asked a stupid question? oh well, I hope I don't have to leave this site due to the same attitude.

In my opinion, If you don't know the answer to something that is concerning you, or worrying you the only stupid thing you can do is NOT ask. I have reloaded for better than 50 years and frequently run into issues that befuddle me. I have no tolerance for anyone who makes light of someone's quest for knowledge. I worked for a great guy who said" I don't care what you know, But if you know something I want you to teach me."

There are different TYPES of questions, and yes, stupid is among them.
If you deny the notion of stupid questions, than you would also deny there are stupid answers.
I wonder why you would..

We've all heard the adage [give a man a fish/teach a man to fish]..
Well a man that asks for fish, instead of HOW TO FISH, is asking a stupid question.
And the fool who merely throws him a fish, or, tries to teach him fishing, is providing stupid answers.

A better teacher would first convince the man to ASK FOR WHAT HE REALLY NEEDS.
With this, the hungry man must invest enough effort to recognize that he needs some thing, some part of what he's tried and failed to do.
He will not learn until then.
You can not help him until then.

I just joined this site tonight after reading for quite a while, and have to say I joined it due to the low ratio of silly ego squabbles. I see more numbers and solutions here than anywhere else.

One way every well intended member can help this site, is to not respond or fall into the bait trap trolls create. Just don't interact with it. Sometimes trying to disarm it can even turn hazardous as anyone but the most prudent can fall into fits of pride.

The worst situation is when members do not want to share helpful and truly expensive information. I've seen when THE information I needed at the moment became cloistered up because someone didn't want to believe such results were possible.

Good job to the guys running the site formally, but remember the job is each of ours too.

I've been on/watched other firearm websites and this one is definitely by far, the best of them all. Always someone ready to help a newbie like myself, and I appreciate that beyond what words can express. This can be an expensive hobby. Some lessons are necessarily learned the hard way. Others can be learned from experienced mentors. The members of this board conduct civil discussions that allow readers to decide what may work best for them. The name calling and personal attacks are so detrimental and resolve nothing. This is a great site and I, for one, will do my best to keep it that way. Happy shooting to all! :)

hello forum boss, just to remind all you guys & gals that our u.s. postal service is hard at work. on the 10th of this month i mailed a stock & floorplate to a fellow member in the state of m.d., but had only 15 dollars on me & shipped the pkge. out by general delivery, bad mistake on my part, because any box that looks like it might contain a gun part seems to go missing. i should of turned around & made the 14 mile trip to fetch my check book so i could spend the extra 7.50 for insurance & proper delivery. TRUST is getting pretty expensive & so are 722 rem, parts, i hope the pkg.& parts makes someone happy, just remember to always insure your mail & learn from my mistake-----take care

USPS will accept Cash (USD), Checks, Debit Cards and Credit Cards for payment.

The only time I've had a ploblem with USPS is when the item wasn't packaged well by the shipper, it should also be in a plaincardboard box designed for the weight of the item.

It is a shame that our posts have to be policed but I do appreciate your thankless work . At my first Benchrest match had I been treated like some of the new shooters making there first post asking basic questions (and usually in the wrong forum) are treated by other posters here I doubt I would have come back . No I would have come back because it is a passion for me but there needs to be some "slack " and tender loving guidance given the new posters that are quite possibly new shooters as well . Everybody had to start somewhere. Our numbers are dwindling every year and we cannot afford to turn new shooters away. Rant over.

I've been a lurker here for a long, long time and just joined the site tonight. I read through this entire thread and have to agree with much of what has been posted, especially about the lack of backbiting and general nastiness.

On another long distance shooting forum I belong to that shall remain unnamed, I'm almost afraid to post anything for fear of being attacked as being stupid or a newbie. This site is overall pretty much civilized and mature in its responses, a welcome change. The reloading forum has been really helpful as well as all the technical articles and product reviews.

To the Big Cheese, aka Moderator, you're doing a bang up job albeit a thankless one and have my 100% support.

Boss, thank you for deleting a post of mine yesterday which somehow turned into flame party. Chill out, folks!!
