Forster Co-Ax Press

I've been using a Forester for a few years now and have really enjoyed it, the floating die, easy change of dies, no need to mess with shell holders going from ppc to 308 style to magnums, the primer catcher and I set the primer part up for my 338L based cartridges, works better for them than any shellholder in a Lee or Sinclair priming tool.

One question though, what is the big differences in the Forester and the old Bonanza models, I have an opportunity to pick one up for a good price and wondering if the old ones are worth messing with.
My old Bonanza doesn't have the adjustable shell holder for priming, and the new Forester's have a smaller jar on the spent primer tube. Both are minor changes to the old Bonanza's but good changes in my opinion. I have been using mine since 1982. Have never replaced a part, keep em clean and lubed and they'll last a lifetime.

I haven't read all of the posts but I love the consistency of how the coax seats primers. Not that there aren't others that do as good of a job but it is another little thing that helps in putting together excellent rounds.

fwiw & imho,
Yet another thing this press does that almost no one gives it credit for doing superbly... I have a brand new Sinclair Priming Tool with 4 heads in the Sinclair foam fitted box for a reason. Also the reason my RCBS APS priming tool never came out of the box. The press primer is dead simple and never fails, ime, to work as advertised. They send you a setup insert, you'd have to see it, and you adjust the three jaws to hold the case while the insert holds the case from inside the primer pocket. Short of dialing in "crush", which is new to me, and the reason I bought a 21st Century Super Precision Priming Tool, I dunno why the average loader would need anything else... The longer I go along I wonder why I need anything else... Good for the economy though...;-).

Regards, Matt.
