Forster 6.5x47L bushing bump neck sizing die?

I just got off the phone with Forster and they do not make a bushing bump neck sizing die in 6.5x47L. They make one in 6x47L, which is listed on their website. I asked the tech if I could use different neck sizing bushings to get a 6.5x47L out of their 6x47L die. He told me no. I don't know if I was not clear about what I was trying to achieve but I find it odd that they would offer this die in the wildcat version first. Is there another should bump die out there for the 6.5x47L?
Thanks Again,
Mitch

Redding make their Type S die for neck sizing and offer a separate body die (shoulder bump). They also have Type S full length sizing die with a neck sizing bush.

Or, you could get the 6x47L bushing die and get an "extra" set of bushings in the size you need for the necks on your 6.5. If the die is the same "except" for the neck size, get the extra bushings. The bushings are the same as Redding.
If the case is the same on the 6 and 6.5, all you need is different size bushings for the neck.
They told me they didn't have a 22BR Bushing Bump Die but could make one "special" for $120.00.
I took my 6BR Bushing Bump Die, got the "extra" bushings in the size I neded and it now does both the 6BR as well as the 22BR. Saved myself at least $100.00. ;)
Check the books for case diagrams. If both cases are the same, except the neck size, get the die and extra bushings and get to reloading. ;)

I sent Forster an email about the same thing. They need to ream the shoulder back on the 6mm die. She told me they could modify the die at the factory for $5. They problem is, you need to either send your die to them or pay full retail for the die from them.

I just ordered the redding set.

So the shoulder is different from the 6x47 Lapua and the 6.5x47 Lapua? Or is the neck/shoulder junction that is different due to the different size necks? It seems odd that you can not use different neck bushings like Mike was saying about his 6BR and 22BR. This should be the same concept.

Here is the email from Forster:

"Jim,

There are no immediate plans to add the 6.5x47 Bushing Bump Die.

We have had customer’s use our 6x47 Lapua Bushing Bump Die for the 6.5x47. The length/headspace dimension is identical for the 6.5x47 and 6x47 Lapua cartridge chambers. We would need to polish/hone open the neck area of the die body slightly to allow the larger neck diameter of the 6.5 cartridge to enter the die. This is something we can do at the factory at the time the die is purchased for an additional $5.00 fee.

I just checked my Forster 6BR die and can see if the hole at the top of the die "was" opened up to 6.5, you'de have a custom die. Probably wouldn't take much and you'de be in business. Sure would be better than having a custom made "from scratch" and a lot cheaper too. ;D
And it seems like the Forster BBD runs about $65.00 to $70.00 from Midway, Midsouth and a few others if they're available. ;)
