For Sale Remington 40X 222-REDUCED

Up for sale is an unfired 40X chambered for 222. I took this in trade and as much as I want to have not fired it. The serial number puts it made in 2000 according to my talk with the Remington rep. It is all original except for the 1/2x28 muzzle thread. According to what I have learned they were 14 twist and super accurate with bullets in the 50 grain range. The barrel is 27 1/4 inches long and the rifle weighs 10 1/2 lbs. It is a single shot stainless action. Some say this is the answer to the high cost of shooting. Powder goes a long ways, small rifle primers are generally available, quality brass will last many firings, the barrel life is looong. Stick a suppressor on it and have a lot of fun at the range or dogtown. Wife and kids will like to shoot it--- low recoil and muzzle blast.

Man I would love to have this. Love the triple deuce. Just rebarreled my early 70s ADL in a triple deuce to a 223 Wylde. Already kinda miss the 222.

Beautiful rifle, good luck on the sale.

Hummm, If you bought this one, you would have both and I wouldn't need to buy brass and dies. We both come out ahead.

Is it sitting in a McMillan stock? Curious if the Remington rep might have mentioned so. Also, some of these 40x single shots say "McMillan" on the center of the recoil pad.

The stock on these rifles are McMillan stocks. I have had a bunch of them. They have a palm swell on the right side of the grip where your hand wraps around it. The swell is only on the right side. McMillan made these for Remington only and you could not order 1 of these stocks from them. All of them that I have had or ever seen came in black for the color.

I believe this model is call KS for kelvar stock. I had one in 6mm Rem. Still got the stock and action

My understanding has always been that the stocks were made by hs precision. The few Ive had have aluminum bedding blocks. Hs Precison part number is Psc023
