For older shooters ONLY!

Is everyone on this site old? Sure sounds that way. 68 this month and my new wife can vouch for the fact I will never grow up. Happy Easter to all you old farts!!!
I'm 67 & my wife knows I'll never grow up. Don't hunt anymore due to a bum knee, but shoot often as I can. Always wondered about the average age on this forum. Maybe the boss will chime in with an answer. Happy Easter to all.

I’m 18 with 33 years experience; at least in my mind. It looks like I’m one of the ‘younger’ crowd here which is somewhat troublesome in and of itself. I still have all my OEM equipment and am grateful for that and can do most things like I always have done. Lost the first wife to cancer 8 years ago and now am on #2, who is an angel incarcerated. I just hope my kids and coming grandkids pick up the torch and uphold the principles of our Constitution and Christianity. I see a lot of proverbial storm clouds on the horizon and worry for the coming generations.

Heck, 57 and the last set of barrels I sent of for turning were done before I even thought about them. Have two more to send off but I don't have time to pick them up to deliver to the gunsmith's.
There's also three builds sitting in my garage, two waiting to be mounted in their stocks and one waiting for me to complete the stock.
So no, I don't have that problem.

I've greatly exceeded my wildest expectations from when I was 18. At 67 I still get on pretty well with life and that is all due to my merciful Savior Jesus Christ. I enjoy each day but spend more and more time contemplating heaven where politics, sin, and hate, are never going to mar even a moment of our peace.
Shooting and reloading are great hobbies to keep body and mind tuned up and the challenge helps keep boredom at bay, which I believe kills more of life than just just about anything else a man can suffer.

Between Shirley and me, we're 147 years old. Once she suggested we go to the Senior Center for some cheap meals. I immediately replied, "Hell no, hanging around those folks makes me feel old!"

And now she's on my butt for us to test her new barrel on her Mid Range gun and to get her Corvette running!

Steve

I have been a foster parent for teen boys for the last 42 years (continuing) and I worked on the support staff at the local high school for 28 years. (retired from that). I am single, have a nice gun collection and enough components so that I can reload for a long time. I will be 73 this June 19th. Last September 1st, I completed the adoption of a young man of 15, who had been my foster son previously. I finally realized that I loved that kid and he was not going to fade away as a hundred others have. I've had my mandatory heart attack a week after I retired from the high school. Triple by-pass surgery and I am still going right along. My son turned 16 on Jan. 20th. He is the product of a broken adoption after 10 years. He was born in Ethiopia and came to this country at age 3. Now he is mine. I outlived my 2 dogs 3 years ago. You can't live without canines! So I adopted a 2 year old female Pitbull (an absolute sweetheart) and a year and a half year old male German Sheppard-Black Lab (charged with good spirit). So far, I am the longest living male in my family since we all came to this country in 1840. I can't think about passing away...I have too much going on. I'm currently working on getting a Winchester Model 1905 rifle in caliber .35 Winchester Self-Loading functioning with the proper ammo that I make from .38 Special casings. Then I am going to refinish the stock and probably use it for deer hunting this fall. Life has kicked me in the teeth at times, but I have just learned to live with it.

At 65 years young, my motto is "I want to accomplish something everyday". I have a very positive outlook on life. 2 rods, 10 screws in my back, 1 plate and 9 screws in my right leg, 1 screw in the right should and 2 screws in the left shoulder. I hurt everyday, but when asked.. I say I am GREAT.. Both my grandmothers lived to be 101 years old. I am happy to wake up everyday and smell the roses or cow manure, makes no difference. John

74-1/2 here. Moved to eastern TN for financial reasons 4 years ago when I retired. All my friends are scattered - VT, MA, TX, PA so no friends (or shooting buddies) here. Been busy working on the house and playing with my mill, lathe and MIG welder but don't shoot that much. More fun with some companions rather than solo. Been to SD 4 times for PDs and wanted to go last year with my younger son but Covid put the screws on that. Wanted to try this year but he got re-assigned to HI for who knows how long. Don't really want to wait till he comes back but nobody to go with. Going alone wouldn't be as enjoyable.

I just looked in the mirror. I forgot that I had a stroke 2 weeks ago and now I have a incision like 5 inches long in my neck. I was told that scars are sexy and add character to a older gent. Look on the bright side I now have a piece of Bovine in my neck lol. I hope to be back on the range in 2 weeks. See you there.

Well almost sure I posted something here already ?
Well coming up fast on 75, been having all kinds of fun with Doctors, Shooting and Younger's.
The lock down and all the wonderful News ?? I was dragging my brain around in a maze .
Then the other day I got a Phone Call : Don just called check your Barrel order ? Yes that is correct ,
Good it will be out this week. Boy you made my day.
There I was back in the Man Cave. You got to have some break in and test rounds loaded ? Right !
This was like rolling back the years , the gray days , the Shooter in me was alive .
Why I ever let a few people and bad days get me down ? I am, up and on a roll .
The game is a foot.
The heck with down days !
The very Best to One and All!
