For older shooters ONLY!

I turn 68 this july, a couple months ago my wife brought home a wheel chair in case one of us needed it . Well I'm putting it to good use, I'm 2 days post surgery after having a bone spur removed that split a tendon in my foot. I'm out of commission for 6 weeks. I got my reloading stuff all set up and organized and I've got some brass and bullets from Bc'z to keep me busy once I'm off the pain meds. probably going to be a couple of weeks at least I cant even stand up at this point. It will be better soon as I get this 50 pound cast off my leg. I knew this was coming and at least had 4 days to get ready for it. So it's pretty boring around here so please post lots of pictures and cool stories I'll post some targets as soon as I get that far along.

Have you ever noticed that from the time of your gunsmith telling you that he is starting your build till he calls and says he put your new rifle in the mail, until it arrives that life's clock just stands still? Got the call yesterday! Thinking I may have discovered something here, years 0 to 18 were forever, between then and 50 like the half life of uranium, just turned around one day and I was 60. Couple of days later at 62 had a heart attack and realized I could see the end from where I was standing. Now a couple of months later at approaching 76 I realized that waiting on a new build is the only thing that slows down the clock! I'm going to call Mike Davis today and start another build, just trying to figure out what else I need...... maybe a pump action BR, I don't have one of those... John
I'd sure like to start using your clock/calendar because after I send an order to the gunsmith, it seems like ages pass before the final project is done.

Returned yesterday from 12 days in Montana shooting gophers with some other geezers. Just wonderful, good shooting (some days) good friends, good food, good laughs. the best day I shot 72 % hits (18 of25) with my new 17 Hornet Ruger #1, shooting 60+- yards to 254. Other days I shot a 17HMR or 204R, both Coopers. Some good weather, some rain, snow and hail, good days around the wood stove not letting the truth get in the way of good story. Johnny brags about his home brew, BUT, never brings any, he does bring wonderful sausage, bacon and meats from his butcher shop. May be able to go 1 more time before the end of the month. I also had the biggest Huckleberry ice cream cone in I've ever seen, a real record breaker!!! So, just because we have more behind us than in front of us, that doesn't stop us from enjoying everyday!!

Follow up to the AM report above. This AM the boys saw some whitetails in the meadow (not uncommon), but then saw 2 wolves, the wolves started to chase the deer, then made a u-turn back to the timber. The neighbor saw a total of four. We know the wolves are there, and the grizzlies but they aren't often seen. No shooting today, rain, hail and wind driven snow.
