For drill users who turn, polish and trim

I have used a few regular small rechargeable drills and electric straight screwdrivers over the years and just got this $20 screwdriver beauty. Low rpm 200-240 and full torque when want to lock chuck on holder, compact and way more ergonomic than straight screw driver. Grip is same length as a Glock 19. Wont turn when you twist to lock case in chuck. Just a FYI

Which holder is that?

Yes it is the K&M and great idea. The outside rim needs to be knurled for waxy hands!

How long does the battery last? Looks like a great little driver for the odd ball annealing that I would use it for.

I tested it on 20 cases. Guarantee you it will last longer than you want to work it! It is rechargeable but can also take a regular battery.

Not sure if 250 rpms is in my range though. I use a cordless drill now with low/ high range. I use low range and just barely spin the drill chuck. i'm guessing it's more in the 120-150 rpm range. Is the trigger on this model progressive or just a simple on/off switch?

On/Off. Manual says 240 rpm no load. By sound it definitely slows down a tad once there is a little pressure. Must have a sensor. All I do is skim but the base of neck is always thicker so it gets a full shave and I can hear it slow. It dosent seem to be too fast at all. At least it is even rpms.

On the B&D do you have to twist lock the hex shank into place or does it hold just by being popped in?

I have given up on all (new) metallic Lee tools. As much as I love the LCD for easy precise production loading, their steel is so soft. A shame for a company with such a history of innovation. I wonder how much more it would cost to buy proper graded steel than recycled garbage with who knows what grade!! Everyone has cnc machines now so it is easier to have consistent qualilty, unlike in the past. What you make it out of is the difference anymore. No offense!

Just stick it in. You've made me remember It does pull out when pulling on the case. I taped it to stop that. When i had hundreds to do i used my regular drill. It took some of the load off my hands.
I might try to put an Allen screw in it.....
Winter project !

Then there is the Lee solution to this function. No specific shell holder required. Fits all cases. Little bit of a learning curve to operate, but a caveman could do it. I do a lot of case spinning, and it's my go-to.

Oh yeah, it's cheap -- errrrr, inexpensive jd

Mine is a joke. First rate worthless piece of junk!
I’ve got lots of other Lee stuff, but this chuck is plain useless!

This was concerning the Lee Three Jaw Chuck.
It's funny how different folks might have different luck/success with the same tool, or-- whatever. I got this little gizmo to shorten 9mm Luger, and turn them into 9mm Makarov. I think I did around 500 of them, and this tool made it easy.

I don't know if you perhaps got a defective chuck or--? I use mine all the time. Any serious trimming, and also for neck turning. As you can see in this pic, I use this little case prep block to trim, chamfer inside and out and give the case a quick spin on the Scotch-brite pad. Looks like I'm doing 222's here. jd

It might very well be defective! Or maybe I don’t know how to use it? It just screws down on the stem without rotating the 3 whattchamallits closed. If I do get them to close they won’t hold the case from slipping. I’ve taken it apart a few times looking for burrs or something but haven’t found anything that appears to be wrong. I just had a thought about maybe I am not using it properly and/or it has a defect and a combination of that may be my problem. I’ll put the dog to bed and go have another look.
