Just wondering, I have read a few places people saying to flush out the trigger with lighter fluid, is this a common practice? I have never touched any of mine, one of my rifles got soaked today and I have it outta the stock so if I am going to do it nows the time, anyone else do it?
Arnie Jewell recommends using lighter fluid to flush out his triggers, so I can only assume it will work on about any trigger.
I do know they should be run dry and not oiled up like I hear a lot of folks do....
A oiled up trigger collects more stuff than you can imagine on the inside..
I would like to add to this quote because it is so important to run a trigger dry. If you have oil or grease in the trigger and it is real cold outside the oil or grease will get thick and gummy thus rendering the rifle inoperable.
