Florida IBS 600 yard Championship 2019

Well it’s about time we got this show formally on the road.

We are now taking entries for our inaugural 2019, 600-yard IBS FLChampionship.

Entries are limited to 45. (3 relays). There are now 34 confirmed as of 1/11/19. I will accept email and or phone confirmations to hold a spot. The entries will close at 5:00 PM on Friday Jan 25th.

Where: Manatee Gun and Archery Club, 1805 Logue Rd, Myakka City, FL 34251

When: January 26th and 27th

Costs: $15 per rifle per day, plus Manatee Club range fees for $10 members, $20 for non-members per day.

Where to stay: I75 exit #220 is about 30 minutes West of the range and has a wide assortment of hotels and eateries. Gulf beaches only 30 minutes from there for the family.

Camping on Site call the main office for details. Electric. Top off water tanks before come. Potable H2o may not be available. (941) 322-0055

Hope to see a few shooters come down to enjoy our beautiful weather. Yes, we do get a nasty (for us) cold front to blow thru every so often, but typical weather is sunny and mid-70s.

You want me to have the full target line set up for both practice days or just Friday?

We will have our normal steel set up for Thursday at 428 yards and the option of individual target carriers for each shooter to set-up at the 600 yard line. Just figured Friday sometime I would set the full target line up as we would want it for Saturday. No reason it could not be used for some Friday practice also.

I think we could just set up a few (3 or 4) 2x4 posts and steel for Jan 24 and 25th. I would think more than a few of our local group will be out to supervise. Maybe more if there is a demand, but most can just shoot on the temp target stands. If there are people out that will help, then do what you feel best. One guy from WI will sure be out

Also would like to point out that the club has quite a few camper sites with electric and water. Bart said he may come down and bring a trailer. Not sure if he meant his business or travel trailer. Speaking of Chase, our new temporary organizer, I took him out in my boat yesterday for just a couple hours before the storm. Those of you coming in January can find fishing like this and more. Lots of local captains around.
