How about $3.80 a pound? It was probably 1975 when I bought 100 pounds of H335 from Bruce Hodgdon for $100. It came in cardboard boxes with black trash bags inside. I shot every flake of it at prairie dogs.
The story on this is that it was Great Grandad's gun that he hid under a barn, that later caught on fire. It was put there because he was one of the posse members that brought Nat Turner to justice, after he went on his killing spree, and needed to hide it. Maybe someone can Identify the gun and the era, if it would match up with the timeline, because I have no way to verify the story. To me it looks like it could have been a muzzleloading shotgun that used caps. The barrel looks to thin to have been a rifle. Great Grandad did come from Southampton Co., Va.. He had a farm there but ended up loosing it. How's that for a flash back.
