T-REX said:I have used a lot of tools for this over the years starting with a drill bit and am currently using the Sinclair Generation 2 and it works well and I do not see a need for anything "better". I will add that I was taught to do this about 100 years ago when I first started reloading and have faithfully done it every since because it looks right. If you are familiar with the characteristics of a sharp edge orifice in mechanical engineering and fluid flow you will recognize the similarity. But I have never seen anyone present any data that shows that it really helps on the target. So it is one more of those things that we do out of faith that we have not evidence that it is beneficial but we do it anyway out of faith and because it is easy to do.

Make sure you get the proper size

Either this one, or the piloted type from Sinclair will do the job, so just pick one.
Cheers.

Not true when it comes to a DEBURRING tool.
If the diameter of the deburring tool's rod will fit through the case neck opening you can deburr the interior edge of the flash hole.
I've done it thousands of times when deburring my 6PPC and 30BR brass and neither Deburring tool is a K&M or a Sinclair.
Deburring the Interior of the Flash Hole and Flash Hole Reaming are two different or distinct operations.
One tool removes rough edges and is inserted through the case neck, the other tool [unless it's dual purpose], only opens up or increases the diameter and is inserted through the base of the case.
I do have a Sinclair Flash Hole Reamer that Reams the typical 6PPC flash hole from .059" to .0625"/.063" but have long ago ceased doing that based on research and testing done by NBRSA Hall of Fame inductee Jack Neary.![]()
