First range trip with new 30BR

Rebarreled my Borden BR action to 30BR. Rifle with previous barrels has been my f-class rifle. New barrel is Bartlein 1-17” HV contour finished at 24”. Whole package with NF Comp scope puts me in the too heavy to be legal class. Reamer specs are almost Robinett V2 but minor tweaks.
Targets are 3 shot groups for a ladder test using LT-30. Brass was recycled Lapua shot X? times in my 6BR….no screaming and yelling about that. Used those 50 cases to get forming/turning processes dialed in before opening my only new box. Started at 32.5 and went to 33.5…which was a bit much and won’t be revisited.
New brass almost finished. I thought results were encouraging considering brass I was using and having no personal history with the cartridge. Barrel cleans easy…30 rounds through it at this point.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that!

I built a 30 B-R "just for recreation" and I have yet to shoot a group that measures over .308 @ 100 yards.

I built it just because I didn't have one.

I didn’t measure all my test groups. Only ones I wanted to retest with seating depth. There were a couple that probably exceeded your worst but not by much. Very happy with the Berger 115 so far.

Good shooting. That 115 Berger will fool you when it comes to shooting accurately. Some of the tightest groups I've shot with my 30BR has been with it seated @ .010 jam from just touch.

I got hard bolt lift and a primer fell out extracting cartridge. Side effect of using recycled brass? No clue. May try higher charge with new brass but accuracy I’m getting at lower charges will keep me happy.

Wow! Sounds like pressure but way sooner than I think I've ever seen with a 30br, lt30 and typical br bullets for one.

At some point I’ll sneak back up with the charge I’m sure. Was 40 degrees at the range so thinking it wasn’t temp related.

Good shootin. I love the LT30 in my 30BR. Mine likes it hotter than 33.5 though.

34.5 lt30. 115 bullets is my go too load light jam.

34 gr. LT30 .006 jam with 112 Barts or 115 berger is what my gun likes. The bergers do great but the Barts edge them out on consistency of group size(but not by much).
