First bad primer I've ever had

I had several Rem 7 1/2 primers fail. They were pretty old but stored in dry temperature controlled room. Out of 50 rounds I loaded probably had 6 bad primers. Threw the rest of the brick away and that was just last year so throwing almost a 1000 primers away during the great primer shortage of early 20’s hurt but that’s too many to fail to trust them.

Occasional "bad primers" are a fact of life when you reload. Sometimes it is actually a light strike or a brand with harder primers for a given gun. I have a Smith 642 with a light hammer which is only reliable with Federal SPP. Sometimes nothing else is awry, the primer is just a dud. :)
