fireforming

would a standard 6 BR case work as a modified case for OAL i know the shoulder is different it's 40 degrees.
Usually a new 6 BR case doesn't need trimming before fireforming to 6 BRA, they tend to get shorter when fired and you will want that length, equalizing to the shortest case would be fine.
I also use NEO on my new brass before firing, makes bullet seating smoother than virgin necks

I tried fireforming my 6 BR brass to 6 BRA at 29.5 grains of Varget using Berger 105 hybrids, and not very good accuracy.
I settled on 30.4- 30.6 and it's amazing.
Once fireformed I get great results from 30.9 grains and up
This is where I have found the straight BR to shine in the vast majority of my barrels.
I had DJ's Brass hydro form my BRA brass but if I were fire forming I would use 30.4 or very close to it, especially if I was "killing two birds with one stone" by forming during a match.

just got my rifle back from gunsmith and rebarreled it to a 6 BRA thinking about fireforming with 30 grains of varget & 107 MK grain bullet does this seem about right to you guys .
Even a couple grains below max should give you 50,000 PSI. Way above hydo forming. Many guys say two firings to get the shoulder correct. I guess it depends on how much you change the shoulder angle? I use my normal 6BR load to FF to 6BRX. I get small groups FF. A varmint rifle. Not trying to shoot 0.250" groups.
