Fireforming new Peterson brass in 6 dasher…

I’d like to use up some of the power that I don’t consider “sacred” (ie RL-15, Varget, N-140) to fireform some new Peterson 6 dasher brass in my girlfriend’s Panda 6 Dasher. Can you guys suggest some good power choices and charge weights strictly for fireforming this brass? I’d hate to have to load her regular load of 33.3g of RL-15 with Berger 109g Hybrids. I still plan to use either a 105 or 109g bullet but I’d like to use a less sought after powder that I have on the shelf. Any ideas welcome. Thanks guys.

I use 32 grs of Varget. But it is just as hard to find as your RL15. Sorry that is not much help. Tommy Mc Be sure to jam the bullet..

NO BULLET
POWDER ONLY AND A SMALL WAD OF TISSUE
YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO WORK UP A LOAD THAT GIVES A SHARP SHOULDER
take primed brass to the range and a scale....plus or minus .5 will work here
fast pistol powder accurate 2 zip bullseye
work up till shoulder is sharp in 1 gr steps...maybe fine tune with .5 but not necessary
no wasted bullets no wasted rifle powder

I use IMR 4320 for Dasher fireforming with cheap 95-100 grain bullets.
Any other powder in the similar burn range will work as well.

I have some zip. What do you do with the tissue, push in to prevent powder from coming out? What is a good starting point for using zip for this method of fireforming?

I have not found any true shortcuts. Even with factory bra or dasher brass, you have to fire them a time or two to shape them to your chamber. The fireform loads can be really accurate.

I like the idea of using pistol powder like you can do with ppcs and may give it a try.
