Fireforming 220Russian to 6PPC with no bullet?

I'm hoping to find out exactly how much Bullseye to use and how to seal the case. I've seen references to a "case full" and "up to the shoulder" but they don't give me the warm fuzzies. My goal is to get a sharp shoulder to turn to. Thanks for your help.

I fireform my cases this way prior to neck turning. It helps keep everything nice and straight to start. I simply prime the cases with any small primer handy, throw a powder charge into the case, plug the mouth with (thanks @butchlambert) Playdough (I personally prefer the blue) and go bang. If the case is not formed adequately I simply add a little powder the next time. I be felt the need to weight the charge.

A caseful will not build a lot of pressure with a wax or grease plug. I sent my last 150 or so to DJ. He does a great job.

In the past I have filled the .220 Russian case about half way up the shoulder with Bullseye, but just to the shoulder is probably enough. If you are making brass for a .262 neck chamber, you can expand and turn at .22 caliber to .010 thick. This will reduce the amount you have to expand the neck before turning at 6mm, which will help guarantee that the case will stay straight. I would not do very many cases this way with a good barrel because Bullseye has about 35% nitroglycerine and the barrel tends to get hot fast. I have a fire forming (worn out) barrel so that is not an issue.

Added later: I plug the case with a 3/4 or so inch square of ordinary kitchen paper towel, centered over the case mouth and poked into it with the long leg of a small Allen wrench to the point where it is flush with the case. No muss, no fuss, no mess....
