Fireform for 284 shehane with RL 23

Has anyone fireformed with Rl23? I’m planning on using it for my Shehane load after fireforming. From what I’ve been seeing the fireform load would be at 54 grains and up against the lands.....any input appreciated....

I used to fireform a Shehane with 54.0grs of H4831sc. RL-23 is pretty close (just a shade faster) to H4831sc and I would use 53.5grs of RL-23.

I like to go a little lighter when fireforming - Hornady 162s or Berger 168s would be my choice.

54.0 gr RL 23 is completely fine for fireforming with 162 gr to 180 gr bullets in the Shehane. Fireforminig with 54.0 gr H 4831 was very accurate and I have found RL 23 loads to be pretty much identical charge for charge with an approximate gain in velocity of 100 FPS.

I just Fireformed 180gn Bergers in Peterson Brass, fed 210 primers, with 53gns RL23 - 15thou off the lans. 284 Shehane....

I use the same brass and primers,did you jump or jam? Didn’t see the .015” off lands ,,,,thanks
