RL 23 in a shehane 284

Any good results using RL 23 in a 284 Shehane? Looking for a alternative powder with 2920 FPS or so. I have a 32” barrel with 8.75 twist. I’ll be shooting 1k Benchrest.

Some of the guys i shoot F-open with have been working with RL23 in improved cases and Berger 184 bullets with decent success. They will not share a lot of detail but my sens of it is that the primary benefit is improved barrel life.

RL-23 shoots very good with 184gr Bergers in new Norma cases at 2820fps in a straight .2843 /30” barrel. It should push it at 2900-20fps and still have reasonable brass life, particularly with Peterson brass. It is better than 4350 on the throat.

RL-23 is my "go to" powder in my Shehane. I have cardboard Lapua brass with 10+ firings and the pockets are still tight. I run 8.25 twist Bartleins @32". 2.9030-40 with 183 SMK's and 184 Bergers.
