Firearm friendly hotel chain?

I mostly use AirBnB now because it’s cheaper and zero prying eyes. But if I do have to book a hotel I just use a major chain and have never had an issue. However I always do my best to book a bottom floor and ask for a room near an exit door. Many hotels have mobile apps that let you check in so you can pick a room too.

Country Inn & Suites in Wytheville, VA is happy to host the shooters that come to Bangsteel classes. No issues about me loading ammo in my room either.

As long as the firearms are transported in cases I don't think the motel personnel would know there are firearms, unless of course they are decorated with shooting decals. When I travel I "may" have a weapon concealed on my person. I see no reason to declare to the desk clerk that I may have a weapon. I don't ask about their policy regarding weapons either. Guess that falls in the "Don't ask/Don't tell" category!

I understand all of the thoughts of how you can get around the rules. I've been doing that all of my life. I find it much more enjoyable when I don't have to worry about that. for example: Next week I'm shooting at coalinga and then heading to the Pebble beach area to watch my son play in a college golf tournament so I'll have my rifles/gear with me. I'll need a hotel in Pebble beach. I don't plan to leave gear in the car at night and I would prefer not to have to bring it in and out of the car every day, taking it to the tournament with me.

Worst case would be to come back to the hotel after dinner one night find myself locked out, ask at the front desk and be told that they have a "no gun policy" and I need to pack up my stuff and leave at 9pm. If I was younger, this could happen at midnight.

A hotel that had a policy of "shooter's welcome" would be peace of mind.

Jerry we use AirBnB, or find a vacation rental on craigslist.
No front desk, maids, or other patrons know your business

OK. Just signed up for Air BnB. I sent the owner of a home in pebble beach a question asking her if he was ok with me bringing an unloaded rifle in a case and leaving it in my room.

Notice I used both he and she in the post just above. That is NOT a CA thing. It was a typo. Owner is a lady.

My wife stayed in a AirBnB in Scottsdale
$119 a nite. Immaculate 2br with pool and full garden to relax in after work. The pics she sent made me wish I'd gone with her.

No. Read it here on the forum...forget which thread but it stuck with me. --Jerry

Thanks jepp2. I emailed Hilton and got a question as an answer--they clearly don't want to answer so they pretend they need more info.

I think I'm done with Holton. The other chains are much more reasonable.

All you guys worried about one or two guns, let me tell you about the time we came back from Perry and pretty much cleaned out the CMP north Store if Garands and ammo.
Has anyone else ever broken a luggage cart loaded down with too many ammo cans of hxp 06’ Ammo ? Right in the lobby of the Homewood suites in Kentucky, clerk never batted an eye

That’s some funny chit right there. I can see it now everyone looking around with that what look on their face.

What hotels do shooters use near Coalinga?
A good friend does a Varmint hunting trip around Coalinga every year and uses the Best Western Big Country in Coalinga. We’ll be staying there for the LR F Championships in a couple weeks. Don’t know their actual policy on guns but he’s stayed there for years and never been bothered.
