Playing with a wildcat cal. needing to blow out case and shoulder. Using pistol powder and paper towel to fill case. My question is how do you decide how much pistol powder to use to blow out case properly? Using SW AR Clean Shot Pistol Powder. Thanks in advance.

Yes, it is still possible.
In my many years of fire-forming wildcats, I have gotten away from forming with any method other than just loading and shooting. Get some cheap bullets and use that fire-forming time to get scope on paper, learn the trigger of the rifle, get the barrel broken in, and just get some good practice in.
Time and money are both considerations. I fireform at home because the range is 45 min away. If you're only making a few shells it makes little difference but if doing 100 it's a waste. I use 8-10 grains of whatever pistol powder i have lots of or whatever i'm not really using anymore. I don't use filler or wad just hold rifle up in the air. If noone is home can be done in basement or garage. watch the flame though. Depending on what shooting world you live in practicing with a bad load is not worth much to me. To each his own.
