Finishing one for my Canadian buddy ScottyB!!

I worked on a bank in Palm Beach Florida years ago. The crew I was with did a conference room, Lobby reception area, and 4 large offices. All doors casing , jambs and wall paneling were bubinga. All of us on the crew were looking for something to make with the leftovers. I thought a new wood pad for my trolling motor bracket on my hunting boat. The bracket is a piece of 1/2 thick aluminum angle welded to the bow of the boat. I finished after dark and decided to rub some oil on it the next day. As I loaded up for work the next morning I glanced over and the bubinga had warped so bad in one night that the top screw (number 8) that held it to the angle had been stretched in two. The wood we used was very heavy also and I found no good use for it. Ruger and I believe Winchester used to stock African caliber rifles in it cause it was to tough to split with rifle recoil. Not many carry a F class rifle very far, so this may be a good thing as the weight would help with recoil. No good for trolling motor bracket pads.
