Fedex strikes again...

Not sure about the rest of the country but around here, all FedEx Ground shipments are delivered by contractors in leased trucks, not FedEx employees or vehicles. Another outsourcing debacle.
All FedEx Ground shipments have always been delivered by independent contractors; it’s been that way since FedEx Express bought out RPS (Roadway Package Systems) around 1998/1999. What you refer to as an outsourcing debacle opened the door for thousands of small business owners to build a private delivery company, support an entire sub economy built around that specific industry, create thousands of jobs, and give meaningful competition to UPS which forced them to be more competitive.

Good packaging, clear labeling, and an understanding of what those package actually go through will prevent just about any damaged shipment. The rest is up to the workers, and they’re just a snapshot of the community they’re from. That’s not the company’s fault, that’s the community’s fault.

I’ll never use FedEx again for any reason.

Below is how I had a 3k 3D printer delivered, can you actually believe the driver took pictures and stated left in outdoor storage.
It was100’ away from my front door in the circle drive. Read closely…

BFH….!
Bloody F-ing Hell…!!!
I hope it was insured… The pictures by the driver should make filing a claim straight forward… I hope.

fedex reluctantly fixed this. As I posted, they found the barrel, unharmed, on the shelf at my distributor's facility. The branch manager told me, on the phone however, that they could not deliver it to my house.
Figure that...

Meaning what?

If you drove to the location to receive it, that's fine, but otherwise it's going in a dumpster?

In what alternate universe does that make any sense?

FedEx delivered my new set of tires(LT) today, ordered Monday from Ohio. The woman driver had the first one up to the garage door when I went outside. I grabbed each of the rest at the truck door as she CARRIED them from the back. Thanked me for helping while she took a couple pics.

It's like most things.

A small percentage make trouble for the large percentage.

Applies to ALL aspects of life.

Some folks would sit back and expect the delivery driver to place them in the 'perfect spot'.

Some drivers would leave them on the curb.

So it goes.
