FedEX Fumbles my barrel & damaged the threads

Well good ol FedEx slung my barrel out of the box lost the custom bolt face and lost the magazine and damaged the threads on the barrel. They shoved it back into the damaged tube and sent it to me like nothing ever happened. I have filed a claim and filled out an inspection report and submitted that. I already know its gonna be a drawn out thing and I will probably never get reimbursement for the damages and lost items. Could these threads be salvaged with a light clean up pass? pic3-25%.jpg

I would suggest you simply sand a taper onto the last 1/8 inch of the barrel.

My new barrel blank shipped via UPS from BC was in a tube with the balance of said cardboard tube stuffed tightly with paper was broken open right at the muzzle end . I about messed my drawers when I got home and saw it broken open.
The barrel was in a mesh sleeve but no end protectors but thank goodness it was ok and a blank so if the end was damaged oh well but your situation is a hard spot to be in
Good luck

Glad your barrel was ok, Not only was mine damaged but they lost important parts that I an sure will have to be custom made or not replaceable at all. I will salvage what I can if they do not honor the claim.

I think the "damage disease" is everywhere. Recently, my daughter moved from Virginia to Indiana. About a 9-hour drive. Her employer paid for a "professional" moving company to move her belongings. After everything was unloaded and unpacked, she found eight(8) items broken beyond repair! So USPS, UPS, and FEDEX aren't the only ones.

These carriers will open a lot of packages to see what is inside. USPS is the worst. They have "inspectors" that can, and will, open anything they want. What happens to it afterwards is not their problem.
I guess things have changed. When I worked for the USPS, the Dead Letter Division employees were the only ones allowed to open letters/packages.

If the moving company packed the stuff then their insurance will pay to repair or replace the broken items. At least all the moving companies we’ve used in the past have
