FB or BT for 308 at 100yds

Should I be trying flat base bullets for 100yd shooting with a 308 rather than the standard 168gr SMK HPBT? I know my 6BR loves the FB bullets at close ranges is the same true for the 308? I have a Mike Rock 24" 11.25 twist barrel on a BAT action. Are there any suggestions.

Boattails as I remember are very useful past 300 yards, but inside of that the flat base is as good as it gets.... and at times its a screamer to 600 yards.....

At 100 yards you use the bullet what shoots the best. BT, FB, or whatever.

In fact, that's a good rule to use out to the mid ranges. For extreme distances,1000 yards) the BT will perform better,usually) because they will have higher BCs.

For 100 yds, try a lighter 130gn flat base with a slightly reduce load using a faster powder such as N135. It will have all the power needed for 100yds with reduced recoil induced errors.

I don't how they would in you tw barrel, but a lot of the score shooters shooting 30 BR, shoot 125gr TNT Speer.
