To satisfy the feedback that shooters would like to know when a bullet has changed we are establishing the regular practice of announcing die changes when they occur.
The ogive die used to make the 65 gr FB, 65 gr BT and 68 gr FB has been retired. We will start using the new die to make 6mm 65 gr BT lot 840,It will say Lot #0000840 on the box). All lots numbered 840 or higher will be made on the new die.
The new die has been changed slightly to include a .046 meplat. The ogive shape is very close to the same shape as the retired die but is slightly longer to extend out to the .046 meplat, the retired die is a .062 meplat).
This smaller meplat does change the BC on these bullets. The following is a list of the retired die BC, the new die G1 BC and G7 BC.
Bullet-----------------Retired BC----New G1 BC----New G7 BC
6mm 65 gr FB----------.265----------.280----------.139
6mm 65 gr BT----------.279----------.295----------.146
6mm 68 gr FB----------.276----------.293----------.145
Remember that the G1 BC is used by all bullet makers and should be the number used for comparison. We are reporting the G7 BC due to numerous requests for this data.
Regards,
Eric
