Favorite barrel blanks and length question.

I have a 28" 6BR fireforming barrel that delivers ~2920 with 105 Hybrids. My 30" match barrels are ~2955-2960 fps with the same load.

Not all barrels are alike, not even the same brand and may deliver different speeds for each individual barrel.

I shoot F/Open and 6 BR and Couple 6 Dashers.
Never had any Barrel less than 30". I have Had HV Palma, I now use #17 to Finish at 30".
All Barrels have been SS, From Kreiger and Brux, all 1-7.5 .
I an running Kreiger ( Obermeyer 5R) on one Dasher It is a hammer. My other Dasher has a Brux and No Matches on it yet. In load testing i could not be happier .
Powder Varget or N-150 , CCI 450's Bullets 105 HB have given me Big Scores. 108 Bergers ,107 Sierra's on 103 Vaper Trails all do well to 600 yards. I have run the Dasher to 1000 yards 105 HB were my Pill of choice.

I have been through quite a few barrels from Brux, Bartlein and Krieger and have never seen one that did not increase velocity with length. Take a look at the original statement and you'll see the reference.

COOL, I learned something today! I was wrong as usual! I posted with MY response mostly to get the string rolling, no one else had responded to his questions yet, BUT, I am ALWAYS up to learn something! THANK YOU for correcting my info for Kevin, I dont shoot F-CLASS so your info for him will be better advice

Barrels will increase velocity with length while residual pressure exceeds barrel friction and projectile inertia. It will diminish as pressure drops but continues for a surprising distance.

I would point you toward an ABC 6mm 1-8” twist but Anthony is not yet up and running at his new location. I’ve had great experience with Krieger and Bartlein 5R and 4 groove from both. Never had a bad Bart or Krieger. I’ve also heard that the Lilja 6 mm barrels are outstanding. I’m trying a Lilja 3 groove on my next build. I like 26-28” finish length in the BR.
