"railguns..."
futuretech......
The military had NOTHING really cool in the way of shooting tech, just lots of dollars and plans.
It frightens me that people actually think this stuff is real! For instance, I've argued endlessly with folks, NAVAL folks about The Good Ship Ponce....
https://www.google.com/search?q=nav...67dTbAhWhHjQIHb-SAlgQsAQIkQE&biw=1536&bih=734 ..... basically we spent BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars to make a nuke-pumped laser that in the end COULD START A WOODEN BOAT ON FIRE AT 75 YDS....... if it set still.
And managed to knock a couple drones out of the sky when the operator hovered them long enough.
Those billions bought us up to the stone age by mimicking the effectiveness of native's wooden fire arrows and then brought us up into the 19th Century when they got the drone to drop out of the sky, that was easily as powerful as a 12ga shotgun.
Ohhhh, but all of this is moot because to "defeat" the Mighty Ponce all's ya' got's ta' do is paint your boat white. Or silver. Then it cain't start it on fire...... Or, worst case shiny polished AL or SS and then the laser just bounces off entirely, can't even make it WARM!
I generally find a direct correlation between them's who believe "the military has stuff we can't imagine" and them's who say "we never went to the moon" .......and in the next breath "well to a scientist, bumblebees can't fly"
