Famous Quotes About Firearms

Not sure how famous it is but one of my favorites. E.B. Sledge sets the stage for his book With The Old Breed at Peleliu and Okinawa by quoting a passage from "The Leathernecks" by another Marine, John W. Thomason, from his book Fix Bayonets published in 1926:

Rifles were high and holy things to them, and they knew five-inch broadside guns. They talked patronizingly of the war, and were concerned about rations. They were the Leathernecks, the Old Timers… the old breed of American regular, regarding the service as home and war as an occupation; and they transmitted their temper and character and view-point to the high-hearted volunteer mass which filled the ranks of the Marine Brigade.

If you're not afraid of guns get one. Learn to use it, if you have to shoot someone, shoot them a lot. Sherrif Grady Judd Pasco county Florida. He's on youtube.

To paraphrase Fat Freddie from the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers comics - "Guns will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no Guns"

Unless you hire guys with guns. "Men are cheaper than guns, why don't you hire men?" "We deal in lead, freind" and so many others from The Magnificent Seven.

“Then He said to them, “But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one.” Luke 22:36
Sounds like 2A and Capitalism in one lesson.

Elmer Keith dig at Jack O'Connor about Keith's disdain of the 270

"I prefer to hunt my game before I shoot them rather than after."

A US Marine sniper, asked what he feels when he shoots an al-Qaeda member, replied " Recoil".

By the way, the person asking this question was none other than Katie Couric.
The original question was asked to Carlos Hathcock ( White feather ) in Da Nang during a interview in 1969 , and published in Life Magazine .
