Facts RE SIG P320 Issues?

The attitude of most of the replies and posts in this and other forums rallying against a 2nd amendment company is very worrisome.
I hope the ranges that voted for banning the P320 without fully understanding the story are truly embarrassed.
My prayers are for the fallen Airman family.

Did you watch the videos in the previous posts? It’s very obvious there is a problem with the gun.

Why should range operators be embarrased?

The Sig P320 is having issues with an unusually high rate of uncommanded and or unintentional discharges. Sig has had their engineer apply for patents for parts for the P320 fire control mechanism.

Organizations large, small, private and institutional have banned the P320. If Sig fixes this they can be reinstated.

SAFETY FIRST!

Gosh, the more I read about this, the worse it gets. Heck, just stay w the beretta 92 military model or p226. people don't realize the heavy wear and tear these firearms absorb. I hate to repeat it, but they had desk guys and bean counters choose the 320. reminds me of a VERY salty shooting range owner, gray hair, quiet, and serious as a heart attack. p320 had been out a few years. I was hot to get one. I asked him what he thought of the 320. 'Well, he said, we'll have to wait a few years to see how it does.' truer words were never spoken. Heck, why did the military ditch the beretta instead of just buying more. it was pretty good and serviceable. I don't think the rank and file had/used the p226. Jeez, we can't leave well enough alone. is the sig fury the other shoe to drop?

Ran across this and found it interesting.

It has been a while, but in the infrequently accessed parts of my mind I seem to remember.... the Seals switching to the Sig 226 due to the Beretta P9 having issues.

As time goes by, my respect for the abilities of John Browning increases.
Imagine that, user error. I doubt it will silence the Sig haters.

The Air Force has returned theirs to service.
I quote one paragraph.

"A review of weapon discharges in AFGSC showed that none were attributed to weapons malfunction."

Great, now we have to read instructions

It is easy to see how a lack of maintenance could cause issues. I don't think many people remove the FCU when cleaning their pistols. They are so easy to clean, a little squirt of Remington Rem Action Cleaner, that this is often overlooked by some people. And of coarse wear and tear and not getting back to the armory for periodic check-ups. My 45 cal. P320's shoot great for what they are. You can't make a silk purse out of a pigs ear as my grandma used to say.

191 out of almost 8,000 had worn parts. Probably AFSOC guys who actually shoot a lot.

Whats the issue with the P320?
I have a SigXten
not one issue with it once ever
is this with 9mm? or something other?
I know my P320 does not come with any sort of safety, but that was its appeal to me as a carry weapon
No safety to fumble fart around with or slip on or break etc when business means business.
I havent heard anything so if you could share what the experienced issues are that could be preventable with perhaps some foresight and some fixing
but since I have not had issue with my 10mm, I am certainly not suddenly going to be getting rid of it
----------
Also is it possible 10mm's do not experience whatever weakness others are eperiencing?
SELL IT FAST!

THEY ARE NOT SAFE!

Our local P.D. cancelled an order about 6-7 months ago because of safety concerns with accidental discharges and some lawsuits that were pending over them.
I am pretty sure they are still looking for a replacement.
We are talking 350-400 guns good size order to lose.
Better safe than sorry!

I fully believe the sig p320 issues are negligent user related problems.

Still I get why local gun clubs would institute total bans of the p320 . In a sigle word: liability.

Negligent users will sue anybody and everybody for anything they can possibly blame on somebody else.

Safe gun handlers will follow the four safety rules and admit where they contributed to the problem.

Unfortunately , the rest of us have to operate in a world where the negligent users are driving the bus.

A recently publicized internal report from the FBI’s Ballistic Research Facility (BRF) created some confusion and raised questions about the safety of the P320.
I bet they did. Once they beat the Colt SAA to death, to the point in could not be entered into evidence in the RUST movie debacle, they could now jump on the P320.
