Facebook Alternative for Gun Interests?

Im curious if there's an alternative to Facebook out there? I deleted my account years ago when it became very obvious they were using it for political purposes and the fact was that I was increasing their revenue by using the platform. If your on FB you are increasing their revenue. I think all the accuracy minded shooters should just use this site, but Im curious if theres something like Rumble for FB? FB was really simple to upload pictures and videos, so I posted alot more of that stuff when I had it. Although, I really really like not having social media.

I’m interested in this too. I’ve been watching some of the talking heads for firearms related topics mention the 2A network, sounds like a few of them have signed up for it. I don’t know enough about any of it to recommend something or actually join it but there’s definitely a need.

I have a good friend who is a custom knife maker, kitchen knives and custom folders too. They aren’t cheap and he built his business with Instagram, it been a valuable tool but in the last two months they have banned or shadow banned his account several times and all he does is show the final product when it’s complete. He’s beyond frustrated and asking the same question.

I’ve always been grateful for Elon shutting down the propaganda machine and wish someone with his means would establish a network that truly has free speech and supports the freedoms we enjoy without Censorship.

This is a question that’s being asked a lot right now. Good post.

Most forum software provides a subset of the functionality FB provides. Accurate Shooter, Rimfire Central, Shotgun forum, 1911 forum and the like which are oriented toward discussion forums however they are tied to threads and subforums. I've been kind of surprised that forum software providers have not added the ability to setup personal pages. Seems like a logical extension. The only one I know that has is SmugMug. SmugMug was owned by the guy who started the AdvRider forum but he sold it. That allows one to setup personal pages and stores for ones products. It's kind of like Facebook and Amazon combined. Good idea and I think they are the leaders but more functionality is needed and it needs to be more generic. Currently it caters to photo storage and professional photographers. If I were twenty years younger I'd take it on but I'm an old and lazy retired software engineer and I like it that way.

Rumble is a good alternative to Youtube. I joined Facebook about 10 years ago for one specific reason only, too get ride announcements for a riding group that I belonged to that was cancelling their Meetup Group. It wasn't a week before I got blasted from people wanting to be friends. Joining was a big mistake and I quickly dumped it. That ride Meetup group BTW hasn't ever cancelled it Meetup Group!! I just don't get the social media stuff, I guess I'm the wrong generation. Forums are leaning toward that social media when weird personal shit is posted, strange!

Seems like X (formally twitter) is a better option since Elon took it over.

I got on facebook about 15 years ago and would not still be on it today except that this is the primary way that I talk with my grandkids.

Over the past few years I have joined several facebook groups related to the shooting sports. Agree Alex, just wish there were an alternative.

I nuked my Facebook years ago.

If a gun group is on Facebook, then that gun group is literally providing revenue for the gun group's destruction.

Mark Zuckerberg spent $419M on nonprofits ahead of 2020 election — and got out the Dem vote

During the 2020 election, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg spent hundreds of millions of dollars to turn out likely Democratic voters. But this wasn’t traditional political spending. He funded a targeted, private takeover of government election operations by nominally nonpartisan — but demonstrably ideological — nonprofit organizations.

Analysis conducted by our team demonstrates this money significantly increased Joe Biden’s vote margin in key swing states. In places like Georgia, where Biden won by 12,000 votes, and Arizona, where he won by 10,000, the spending likely put him over the top.

A gun group on Facebook is truly ironic

IMO: Rumble is not what you want. It's YouTube with a different label. It's for video sharing, it's not like a FB Group.

I had to delete my account years ago, which apparently is impossible to do, because I couldn't measure up to "community standards" whatever they are.

MeWe used to be better. I own the F/Class group on there and it used to be active, maybe we all can make an effort to get it going again. I've recently had some new member apps, so might be a good time to. Of course, BR and all target shooting is welcome.
