E-mail so I can send to you a video of a FTR stock that tracks. steve@sjr-enterprises.comThere is a trade-off that must be made. At least for me, it is difficult to shoot a .308 F-TR rifle free recoil. I must shoulder the stock. If I shoulder it too tightly with a "ski" bipod like those you mentioned, the barrel wants to hop, even if lateral body position is correct. When I shoot with a tight hold, I prefer a "loadable" bipod like a Harris, etc. My best results with a ski bipod come from shouldering the rifle firmly enough to absorb recoil while permitting sufficient controlled rearward movement to allow the bullet to clear the barrel. All of this becomes more difficult as the total recoil level increases. When shooting 155.5 Fullbore bullets in either my tactical (Harris) rifle or F-TR (Duplin), handling is easy to manage. When shooting 230 Hybrids in one of my F-TR rifles, I still cannot shoot them reliably despite the load being extremely accurate. [br]
So, the short answer to your question, from my viewpoint, is no. A standard length of pull is still appropriate.
