I'm looking for advice from experienced F class shooters. With the newest generation of bipods available (sinclair, centershot, skipod, etc.) it seems that there is a benefit to letting the pod slide on the ground/pad.
Here is my problem - being short of $ to buy a good bipod, I'm making some "modifications" to my current one (a Harris look-alike). I have changed the feet out to increase the contact area and allow it to slide, but can I have too much? If I have too little surface friction, will the rifle just slide all over? Do I need to make rails on the feet to control the direction of slide? Has anyone tried this before?
Thanks for your input.
