F-T/R School

I miss when we used to do the clinic before the Southwest Nationals. Was one of my favorite parts of the match
I was able to attend the clinic @ SWN in 2018, which may have been last, or next to last year one was offered.
Having experienced HM shooters observe and offer suggestions for your position (sling shooter), shooting drills @ 1K yds were all most helpful.

If a clinic was offered, either incorporated with a larger match, or a stand alone clinic offered by one of the larger active clubs, I'd be happy to sign up.

I just want to know who snuck Mexico between San Antonio and Houston that week, was a good trick for sure.
Were you awake when you were driving and was anyone else able to see Mexico from the truck?

My second guess is that you thought the signs that said I-35 were actually the speed limit instead of the highway number. If you had been on I-10, you would still be driving a week later.

In Jared’s defense I was with him..I was tired and hungry when we left out I fell asleep and the first real problem happened when we had to take a right onto I-10 in Borene. That’s a hard one for some which way is right… anyways I wake up about 3hrs later and see a sign saying Juarez 10miles so I ask Jared if he knew a shortcut I was unaware of? He says no dammit you said you were hungry and wanted a breakfast taco and he knew a place.

Wow, Jared must have been going about 150mph. Ciudad Juarez is about 450-500 miles from San Antone.

If some range in the US wanted to host a clinic (wind/reloading/FTR) and generated good attendance and put in somewhere in between MidApr-MidAug I would help out if I could. I know almost everyone who's commented above and they all have given great advice. Happy to pass along what I've learned either from other mentors in the sport or personal experience. We need to give back when we can. Drew

I shoot at OKC gun Club when my boss doesn't have me working out of town. We have a great bunch of guys that help any way they can. I've gotten good, honest answers to all my dumb questions. However, I usually need to get home after the match.

I used to shoot mostly pistol and competed in bullseye, IHMSA, USPSA and (my favorite) ICORE. I went to a couple of formal classes and that really got things rolling for me. I'm looking for a formal rifle shooting class, but it seems like most are geared for tactical type scenarios that don't really interest me a whole lot. I do most of my hunting with a shotgun, so not really interested in hunting classes either. Then again I don't know what I don't know. Are there any classes geared specifically for F-class, preferably F-T/R?
There are no classes that I'm aware of however there are a lot of us on the site that have been doing this a while and that are happy to help. If have questions or need help let me know.

Hold that thought.

Though there isn't a specific section on F class ( TR / Open ) , all of the same fundamentals from "Sling" do apply . I've read Nancy's book twice to glean as much information from it as possible , and there is a lot in there to take away for a F shooter . A great reference for any new shooter , and written in such a manner as to not , "go over the head" , of a new shooter . And being able to have access to the author doesn't hurt either .

The newest version does have explicit f-class content.
