f class shooters question, boil mirage

Hi!

I've got question to more experienced shooters regarding mirage and boil

So mirage can change POI. The higher the magnification, the bigger mirage visibility in scope.

So when big mirage occurs would dialing magnification down reduce POI change caused by mirage or it would only reduce mirage visibility, but POI change would be the same?

Not in my experience... Dialing down just helps with dealing with the shimmering blob on a mental level.

In my opinion, that would constitute a range alibi and be handled as such per the rule book. No different than if you have a target frame failure on a manually-pulled target. Don't try to make it something special and bad about e-targets.
