F-Class Muzzle Devices

Is it legal per the F-Class rules to use a muzzle device such as a suppressor or compensator?

F-class rules do not allow brakes or moderators, some clubs allow them in informal matches and practice sessions, but in registered competitions they are not allowed.

Thanks for the clarification. I read the 6 pages of the NRA rules for F-Class and I didn't see anything in there, so I figured I would ask. I am new to the idea of F-Class, and am slowly putting a rifle together. Happy I didn't have the barrel threaded for a suppressor.

Just because its not in the F-Class specific section 22, doesn't mean it may not be in the main body of the rules... a lot of the stuff in the rest of the book *does* apply to F-Class also (and some does not, such as scoring Rapid Fire targets for conventional HP matches).

3.16.1 Compensators and Muzzle Brakes - The use of compensators or muzzle brakes is prohibited. An extension tube that has been installed on the muzzle of a rifle to extend the sight radius shall not be considered a “muzzle brake.” The extension tube must have an interior diameter of .5 inches or greater and may have 1/4” x 1” slots cut at 12 and 6 o’clock to remove cleaning patches. Threaded holes along the top of this tube for the installation of sight bases will be allowed.
