F-Class Matches in Georgia

Trying to find a spot in the SE to meet up with a few friends and shoot a match or two. Anyone know of any clubs in Georgia that hold one or two day F-class style matches? Even Benchrest would be ok. Really just a place to meet up and have a day of two of shooting, and matches are always fun!

Last I hears Cool Acres near Statesboro quit running F class and only runs PRS now. I haven’t heard of any other 1000 yd competition ranges in the region.

I would be happy with mid-range lol. I may have to look in North FL, even panhandle too.

We shoot a "tactical benchrest" match the first Saturday of the month. Paper target at 100 yards, and the steel at 300, 350, 400,450, 500 and 600 yards for our standard matches. Once a quarter, we run a non-standard match where the 100 and 600 yard is the same, but it varies in the middle. The steel is 18, 12, 6, and 4" targets - you get more points for the smaller targets. Each match is a total of 20 rounds.

You must shoot of a front bipod (non-F-Class) and a rear squeeze bag (no ears).

You can shoot from either a bench or prone.

We are located in Brunswick, GA. Let me know if you want any more details.

That sounds like a fun match! I think we will be wanting to send a few more rounds.

I don’t know how close you are to Tullahoma Tennessee but we have 1000yrd matches there a few times a year then there’s Dead Zero in Spencer Tennessee they have matches regularly there . We have a midrange championship coming up Labor Day weekend 600yrd at Tullahoma at AEDC

Once the match is over, we have a short period of time for those not staying to put their weapons away, and then there is usually a match after the match - everyone will put some money into the pot (this varies each time, but usually only $5 or $10) and the MD decides on what the challenge will be. The hardest one so far has been a 1.5" heavy gong at 600 yards. Everyone in the after match lines up at the 600 yard benches, and they each fires one round, in turn. Anyone who hits the target is allow to shoot in the second round. This continues until we only have one remaining. Sometimes we have to come up with creative tie breakers.

Then after this, the range will be open. If a visitor wants to remain to shoot at the range, he must arrange with a member to stay with them, since we close the gate to public access after the match is completed.

That sounds like a good time and probably a good group of shooters to be around.
