F Class matches in Georgia?

I have read up on F Class and would like to give it a try. Does anyone know of F-Class matches that are held in Georgia or Alabama and if so could you please supply a link or contact name and phone number?

I have asked the same question. They don't do any F-Class at River Bend, which would have been my first guess. I think there are a few F-Class shoots over the border around North Augusta, but I have not been able to verify. There are several F-Class matches at Oak Ridge, TN. There is a range at Ft. Benning that could handle it, but I don't think that they run any there either.

I also heard that Benning used to host some matches at 600 yards. With as many shooters as you would think live in the Atlanta metro area we should be able to fill up matches each month. If I find anything out I will keep you in the loop.

The 1000 yd F-Class matches in Georgia are held at Ft. Benning at the same time as the Stars & Bars prone match. I am a member of River Bend Gun Club and it is a living hell to get anyone to go practice with you on the 600 yd line, prone or otherwise. Most of my practice comes on the walk-up range at 100 and 200.
I am thinking about a video setup so I can shoot 600 by myself. To my knowledge, there are no dedicated F-Class matches in Georgia.

River Bend is 11 miles from my house. Ft. Benning is 165 miles. Oak Ridge is 209. Butner is 402. Do the math/gas calculations. You best find a place close to home.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the input. What part of the State is the River Bend gun club? Does River Bend shoot any long range matches of any kind? I used to shoot the tactical match at Benning,100,200,300,and 360 yards) but the range moved on the base and no more tac. match. I would even be willing to go to the Hard Rock 1K match in Alabama but just wanted some match action closer to home.

River Bend Gun Club is located in Dawsonville, Georgia. It is a very nice range with a very active shootgun hill, cowboy town, action shooting bays, smallbore prone, XTC, 3x6, the Confederate Nationals, Bullseye pistol, archery etc.

I believe that FT. Gordon in Augusta, GA has F-Class 1,000 matches 2 times a month. IIRC it is put on or sponsored by the Palmetto Shooters or High Power Club. IIRC 200, 300 & 600 high power on Saturday & F-Class on Sunday. The Palmetto site had a match schedule on it.
