ARIZONA_F_CLASS

FTR LR High Master, FTR MR Master, Smalbore Master
Started shooting FTR last year. Now I own 3 match rifles in 308, 4 bipods different weights, 2 Nightforce NXS Scopes, 3 Leupold Mark 4 Scopes, 1 SWFA Scope. 2 extra stocks. and 1 extra barrel. Plus all the bullet pointing , tipping and reloading supplies for 308. :o

Damn you, who didn't warn me!!!! ;) lol

How bad do you have it?

heheheheh, you still need to get your own reamer(s), enough bullets for at least 2 seasons (in a weight that you are considering not shooting the rest of this season), spare barrel blanks, and oh by the way, have you ever looked through a March or a new NF competition scope?

I own 2 reamers, and a throater for the 308. Also have about 6000 bullets and enough powder for at least two seasons. :o

I have looked at March and the competition. But Mirage is so bad here. I don't think they would be a benefit.

Welcome to the club ! Have you considered joining the dark side ? ( F open ).
Our stuff is shinny, the wind only moves our flowing lochs of hair, not our bullets..........

300 win mag might be in my near future. But I will still shoot off a bipod. Yes I'm prejudice. ;)

Guy at the last Oak Ridge match was shooting a 338 Lapua no brake....

Yea he was getting sledghammered allright. I heard he was shooting 300 grainers and his vision got blurry by the end of the first match...

Sounds like you got a decent start on your equipment... ;)

Disease? Obsession more like it!! I think about it more than I ever thought about booze and I been sober for 5yrs & 17 days...... :)

A 300WM from prone for 60-80 shots... Uff Da!! Dat might be a little too much donchya know, eh?

I'm really glad he was down on your end and not next to me, but I would really have liked to watch him shoot a match. That had to be punishing. (I wonder what % of his barrel life he spent this weekend shooting 100 shots for record?)

Yeah, it happens before you know it. F-Disorder has a very rapid onset, in most cases it requires only one exposure to attack the cranial region . Symptoms include, but are not limited to, lightness of the pocket book and the quest for perfection.

No know cure exists.

It keeps getting worse with every match. Soon your ability to understand plain English will be limited to shooting related subjects.

I guess I started down a road that has no end huh? My 1st ever match is this weekend, will I be forever lost after that? Is there any hope?

Trevor

The road never ends but has a few curves and driveways. Those are new scopes, better equipment and whole new guns.

Mike, are you coming up to Pasa this Sunday for the match?

Josh I just got back from Tennessee and can't say for sure just yet, I only have 46 loaded rounds and piles of work to catch up on. I do enjoy shooting with you fellows and will try to make it over this year.

IA_shooter, to win you must be obsessed as much as your ambition and responsibilities will allow. Success and satisfaction are the results of ambition and alert planning. There is an old saying that if you have a barn to build and want to shoot well ,then you shoot first then build the barn! I wish I never heard that!!!!
Study obsession and use it to your advantage.

Why do you need three rifles in 308 and so many scopes? Are any of these custom rifles?

Been competing with a factory Remington 700 5R 24" on a AICS stock. I just got my custom barrel a week or two ago. It's a 30" Krieger 5R. First rounds down range today. :)

The 3 rifles are Remington 700 26" XCR LongRange Tactical, Remington 700 5R 24", and The New Remington 700 30" krieger 5R. I have many more rifles. These are just the ones I use in FTR.

My wife has always said I have some kind of obsessive compulsive disorder which should help me out in this case. ;)

That's exactly right. Tony Boyers book has a explanation of 4 types of personality and attitude towards competition. It is a interesting observation by a very successful shooter. I have read Musashi several times and he will show you how to dig deep within yourself by example of his training techniques. Your observations of yourself are important. You need to find your formula to gain ground.

When I shot my first 200 in F Open RocketRon says "that's gonna cost you"
I says " What do you mean"
He says " time to spend some cash on upgrades , most do it after good success !
I says " Naaa I'm good "
Well Monday AM I'm on the Phone with Sitman ordering another stock that I needed like another hole in my a&& !
:o
