F-Class format?

Can someone explain how the format for a new shooter works? Are you given a # and use that at how ever many matches you wish to attend? Or is it more league style for specific areas? I believe there are atleast 3 ranges I'm aware of for sure that do 600yard stuff within 150 miles of me. Who is the sanctioning body, or is it depend on region?

Plenty of clubs do "club matches" which are just that, not officially sanctioned by NRA and scores are just for personal records. Some clubs may do their own series, or end of season trophy. Sanctioned matches can be regional, state, and national. NRA has classifications for skill level based on 120 rounds fired in sanctioned matches.

For all but maybe 4 or 5 major matches just show up. Or pick a match and contact the match director.
