I believe my local range shoots out to 200, 300 and 600.

Even in F/open and the best of the best equipment shooting a 200... doesn't come so often! Not at 1000yd! There are some FTR shooters even putting up scores that are competitive against F/open shooters! More less it is going to come down to the shooter more than the equipment, or Caliber!

Not from my experience. 1 moa is 10 inches at 1000 yards and the bull is 1/2 moa (5 inches). Theres alots of bulls out there.
And then theres that pesky wind thang going on.

Yes 1 moa is 10" and 5" is 1/2 moa at 1000yds. However the best target ever shot in F class was shot by Danny Briggs in 2011 at the SW Berger Nationals. That target was a 200 15X Yes very impressive no doubt! Although even that is not .5moa!
I will trade all my Xs for all clean targets at any distance. I guarantee you... If I could do that I would win every title there is to be won.
Take a 5 relay match and 20rnds for record. Man (A) shoots a 999 100X. Man (B) shoots a 1000 1X. Man (B) wins the match with shooting 1moa. Yes Man (A) beats Man (B) in X count, But Man (A) also beats Man (B) in 9s too.Like the saying goes 10s WIN. Xs are just the icing on the cake
