I have a similar issue with my right eye. My optic nerve damage came from a relapse of MS in 2004. There is a dark spot just off center. Imagine looking down your shotgun at the beads. I can't see the beads, only everything else. The peripheral vision is still great. I made the switch to lefty after the flare up. My Perazzi stock is neutral,however, I had never been kicked on the left shoulder and after 75 practice targets, I was bruised for two weeks! I had to have a RAD installed for the recoil. Nearly 20 years later, I have accumulated more 100 straights lefty than righty. I even stumbled into my first ever 200 straight at the Grand this year! It's doable, making the switch. Boy was it an awkward process! Hang in there and chute 'em!

I feel your pain, I have the exact same problem. A large spot in the center of my vision, and a shot in the eyeball every month.
All caused by edema ( fluid) behind the retina. The shots made it go away at first, but now it is permanent, and the rest of the vision area is dotted with dead vision cells, and getting worse.
I have shifted to shooting left handed, but it is difficult and I do not shoot as accurately.
My rotary shooting table for prairie dog hunting was designed for right or left handers, the top flips over. I flipped it over and drilled it for locating divots for my SEB Mimi rest. I guess I will have to flip over my picture as well.
I just thank God that I still have the peripheral vision, and can still see well enough to drive. Reading is harder work, and the newspaper keeps getting smaller and using smaller type font to save ink and paper.

Yep. I would agre with all you posted.
When my Mother was getting the shots I always said it would take a football team to hold me still for one of those. Well, I have found its different now that its my eye involved. Actually, the shot is not bad. Its the preparation thats a bear.

Actually they have one particular nurse that thinks she should pour 55 gallons of Betadine into your eye before the shot. The other nurses use much less , so you don't get that "I have an eyeball full of sand" feeling.
Yes I agree, the shot is easier to take after a few. I just grab the chair rails and keep thinking " DON'T move the eyeball!!"
