Eye Vitamins And Immune System

So would you start taking the quercetin/bromelain daily as a matter of course or wait until you feel symptoms which for some of us higher risk folks might be too late? Also we have to start thinking about the upcoming flu season.

The NOW brand label says not to take if you're on BP meds [that would be me] so screw that idea I guess. No such warning with the Swanson brand.

This is the best information about quercetin that I could find. Down the page, there is information about things that you should not take it with.

When I was researching alternative ionophers that I could buy, which were safe, in addition to quercetin I ran across EGCG which is found in several natural sources, and as a supplement. Here is some information that leads me to the conclusion that for this, I should shy away from the higher amounts in supplements and stick to drinking green tea. https://www.nutraingredients.com/Ar...een-tea-supplements-should-come-with-warning#

In any case, if you take zinc regularly you will be in prime shape for a short (2-3 wk.) round of hydroxychloroquine or absent its availability quercetin, should you start to have covid 19 symptoms. The pump would be primed as it were. Did you watch the whole first video, or at least the interview? I recommend it.

Hey Jim. This is the one I've been using. Costs me 15 bucks for 4 months worth. And it says it contains 2 mg of lutein. The eye doc just said to make sure the one ya get contains lutein. jd

If you don't mind me asking what is the name and brand of the product you're using?

The eye vitamin I'm using, is Bausch and Lomb Ocuvite (with Lutine).
It contains 40 mg of zinc, (from zinc oxide). I'm gonna investigate to see if there is a better zinc that I should get to go with my quercetin.

This is the zinc that we are taking.

This is the quercetin we are taking.

Since we are not front line health workers,we are only taking one of each, and after the initial week to get up to level somewhat taking every day, we take every other day. If we were to show symptoms, we would do two (pill/tablet) of each daily.

Added later: The quercetin link is wrong. I gave the right one in a later post.

Too bad the zinc is tablets instead of capsules. Your quercetin link is for ester-C not quercetin. Years ago I was taking some fat burner pill in caplet form. It showed up intact on an x-ray plain as day. Not sure if it ever dissolved or disintegrated or just got chit out. It's why I always buy capsules or gelcaps if possible.

Good catch. Here is the correct link.

I have not had enough experience with the different types to say. More than 30 years ago, a young professional athlete recommended chelated minerals to to me saying that they were better absorbed. Since he appeared to be in very good shape, I took him at his word. Also, I am impressed with Solgar as a brand.

Chelated minerals are more readily , and easily absorbed into the body . And you really don't want to know what "chelated" is , beyond the fact that it does work better . ;);) :)

Chela is like a claw similar to a crab or lobster pinchers. Chelation simply refers to a molecule like glycine or picolinic acid [both usually in their anion form] that can wrap partially or totally around a metal cation in similar fashion. EDTA is an example of a ligand that can wrap around a metal ion. It has 6 points of contact and is thus hexadentate. Glycine and picolinic acid each have 2 points of contact and are bidentate.

Well, I just received my Quercetin/Zinc combination capsules. 800 mg of the quercetin, and 22 mg zinc. My knowledge of these things is limited, but a little dialogue here, and our collective knowledge will increase.

After watching the video, I feel a little better about having this close at hand. We're not really "goin to the doctor" kind of folks. jd

Although I have been taking this for a while I just thought about something it’s not helping with CRS which is on the label because I still can’t remember sh:tCA1C9E9B-FDE6-4E1C-B05D-6D7CB4392D9F.jpeg
