Ex- SCOTUS judge wants to squash 2nd Amendment

Retired Supreme Court judge John Paul Stevens says repeal of 2nd Amendment is best way to curtail the power of NRA.

And cities plus states like Ca elect to ignore enforcing laws of our country that do not suit them. I honestly have no idea where we are headed. Glad I'm too old to see what that might be, but worried for my kids. Speaking of kids, its interesting to see how the wisdom of the teen protest is registering. I still remember my teen years; you think you are smart when regurgitating what the teachers instill. Looking back, does anyone think they were smarter as a teen than they are now? Or a senile liberal judge?

I knew it all when I was teen....
or so I thought anyway

Although I completely disagree with his position I defend his right to have it and express it. That is how the First Amendment works. I support the First Amendment as much as I support the Second.

Believing that the Second amendment should be repealed is within his rights. Subverting the Second Amendment through judicial activism is treason.

I really need to proofread better before I hit the send button. LOL

It takes 2/3's of Congress(Reps & Senators together) to start the process and the 3/4's of the states(38) to vote it through... As I heard "not a snowflakes chance in hell". Congress can't get their act together to vote on meaningless crap what makes anybody think the could pull this one out of their a$$.
I have a better chance of playing 2nd base for the Brooklyn Dodgers.:)

Yeah, agreed, but he still needs a good smack..............

People who have become so comfortable and entitled that they have neglected to learn to use guns, those who appraise themselves to good to use guns, and those who think they can leave it to someone else to do the wet work, feel no need to retain the right to use guns. They depend on statistics to protect them and hope for the best. Hope is not a plan.

And then the revolution started. Not that I either advocate or support armed insurrection against the US government.

The position that the 2nd needs to be repealed to ban guns is more honest than attempts to ban guns with the 2nd still in place. Foolish? Yes. But more honest.

The problem here is that the political system is run by money instead of principles and those that talk like that simply expose their inability to relate to many of those he supposedly serves. He has obviously never been exposed to real life for many people. If he had to live in south Chicago for a couple months instead of some mansion/fortress with private security paid for by taxpayers he would change his perspective.

And some think he is just old and not there any more. This is how the anti-freedom group thinks. Ask your self this if they go the stepping stone of registration today. What would they want tomorrow? Then the next day? When would they stop? Would we in the end even have muzzle loading firearms?

I just find it incredibly hard to believe that someone as learned and world wise especially to the ways of government would utter such tyrannical blasphemy. He is either senile or had no right to have ever been a SCOTUS judge. Those who do not remember the past are doomed to repeat it.
