Would that be the 257 Banshee?

Yes! Where did I read that article? [Ne'mind, it was Rich Kayser in P.S. magazine.)

That's much bigger/faster than 257 Arch, which is equivalent to the 257 Weatherby (I just found Arch data online.)

That's a great story behind that one.

First cartridge I reloaded was .300 RUM (ow!).

Second was 6XC, made from .22-250 brass, for a tight neck chamber...

The first cartridge I ever loaded for was a .300 Weatherby Mag. I really had no idea what I was doing. I followed, step-by-step, a Hornady loading manual on die set up, loading procedure and loading data. I used a bullet with a cannelure so I had some reference point on where to seat the bullet to! LOL!! It did go BANG!

For me, my first trip into reloading was with a TC Contender Super 14 chambered in 30 Herrett. Made cases out of once fired 30-30 and shortened the and cut them until they would snap into the chamber. Spent many a primer fireforming on prairie dogs. Favorite load was Win 680, Fed 210M and a 125gr Nosler Ballistic Tip.
